The Swede Beat is a culture project exploring Swedish creativity. Founded in Brooklyn, NY 2009 by Swedish/American Lydia Kellam.
In addition to a digital resource, The Swede Beat run evens, cultural programs, DJ gigs, club nights, fashion parties, movie screenings and collaborations in New York and Stockholm to spread Swedish awesomeness to the world.
The Swede Beat has collaborated with companies such as Svenska Institutet, Export Music Sweden, Swedish consulate in New York, Monki,Kanon Organic Vodka, Rough Trade Records, Aplace, Scandinavia House, Cascine and artists such as Miike Snow, Lykke Li, Korallreven, Taken By Trees, Marcus Price, Kornel Kovacs and more..
The Swede Beat has been either written about or mentioned on CNN, Metro, The Lonely Planet, Dagens Nyheter, Blackbook Magazine and Sofo Magazine. Lydia Kellam has been interviewed by Swedish national radio P3 at three different occasions.
